DISNEYLAND INSIDER INFO

  • Disneyland and Disney California Adventure are steps from each other, making park hopping easy. An esplanade between the two parks connects to Downtown Disney, an area with shops and restaurants and no park ticket is required.

  • Disneyland hours vary with fewer hours in winter and more in summer. The longest are summers, school breaks and holiday weekends. The best idea to confirm is to call Disneyland Guest Relations at 714-781-7290.

  • Phase one of Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge just opened in May - check out our top 5 things to know!

  • Fastpass is a great option for traveling around the park. If you can, spend an extra $10 per person for Disneyland MaxPass, where you can book rides on a smartphone. Learn more about Disney FastPass here.

  • Dining reservations are best booked 60 days in advance. The popular Disney character meals are always in demand and can be difficult to reserve on site, but more upscale restaurants - like Napa Rose in the Grand Californian Hotel and Spa - often accept last minute reservations.

A QUICK GUIDE TO DISNEYLAND

First opened in 1955, Disneyland is the original Disney park. It’s been branded “the happiest place on earth” for generations.

The Disneyland Resort is home to two theme parks - Disneyland Park and Disney California Adventure, plus three on-property hotels and Downtown Disney.

There’s differences between the parks to be aware of. Disneyland features the most popular attractions like Space Mountain, Matterhorn, Big Thunder, and Splash Mountain. It also has the best rides for families, like Fantasyland and the most rides appropriate for younger children.

California Adventure, opened in 2001, has a shared entrance with unique landscapes and attractions. It’s a tribute to the diversity and uniqueness of California such as Grizzly Peak. It features has more extreme rides for adults and teenagers including Soarin' Over California, Toy Story Mania, and the Radiator Springs Racers.

One of the best aspects of Disney’s California Adventure is Buena Vista Street. It’s the perfect rendition of Main Street U.S.A. and the place to go for Pixar and Marvel experiences, and Guardians of the Galaxy.

Ideally, plan on spend at least two full days to experience all the major attractions!

WHY RENTING BABY GEAR FOR DISNEYLAND IS A SMART CHOICE

  1. Our stroller rentals are the quality of what you’d have at home - and far less expensive than Disneyland or other rental companies.

At Disneyland, you’ll pay $15 for a single stroller and $35 for a double stroller. (Plus you must turn in the stroller as you leave - a pain for tired, little ones.)

  2. All our strollers are Disneyland approved. They’re also all name brand, from Graco to Joovy to Baby Jogger - starting at $8/day with free delivery, 12 hours a day, 7 days a week.

  3. Orange County’s John Wayne Airport (SNA) is the closest airport choice, and it’s much smaller and easier to navigate than most airports. Long Beach Airport is the second best option. VacaDUN can meet you at either airport with car seats and your baby gear - at no charge!

  4. For your hotel or rental home, we rent Dream on Me full size and compact cribs with new mattresses, or Graco pack-n-plays. Our inventory is always new or like-new. Parents rave!
